Your Wish Is My Command!

Here are the Ukrainian dances we watched on Youtube today.

Another Kiva Loan Today!

The Grade Threes loaned out some of the money that had been paid back by a borrower on our Kiva account today.
The students have been learning about the Ukraine, so they decided they would like to help someone in the Ukraine improve his quality of life.
They chose to help Roland, a young man from the Ukraine. He plans to get married and requested a loan to purchase a refrigerator and washing machine to start his married life.

To learn more about Roland, click on the link here: http://www.kiva.org/lend/383642?_te=ty
It is so wonderful to see our students so excited to help people around the world improve their circumstances!

Hi Grade Threes!

Tomorrow I will be going to Vauxhall to show some other teachers cool ways you can use the Smart board. I want you to help me out!

What are some interesting ways to use the Smart board?

What are some tools on the Smart board you think teachers need to know about?

What are some of your favourite games or activities on the Smart board?

Choose a question to answer IN  A SENTENCE!
Don't forget to add your first name so we know who wrote the comment.

Thanks for your help!

In Social Studies, we have recently begun studying the culture of Peru, India, Tunisia and the Ukraine. This week we created Peruvian dance capes to retell a Peruvian folk story, Moon Rope.
Peruvian dance capes come from the traditional dance festival of Spallanga each September. Garibaldi dancers, named after the 19th century Italian who aided Peru's independence, perform group dances with anchors, bells, and small dance capes.

Take at look at our own version of Peruvian dance capes.

The Grade Three class is back at work in 2012!
After a great holiday, we are feeling refreshed and excited to keep learning for the rest of the school year.
This week, the Grade Threes were introduced to fractions in Math. We were looking for fractions throughout the school and finding ways that people use fractions in their everyday lives.

Here are a couple games students can play to review what they know about fractions!
