Grade 4s: Fraction Experts!

Hello Grade Fours!

I have been having an awesome time with you, learning about fractions! Since this is the last time I will be teaching you, I thought we could have some fun with math!

Do you remember this question? Use your knowledge of fractions to solve this problem.

Colin and Sarah like to play Guitar Hero. Sarah has completed five out of eight songs on her list. Colin has completed two out of four songs on his list.
1) Who is closer to completing their list?
2) Who has completed a greater fraction of their songs?

Add a comment with your answer! Don't forget to explain how you know, and make sure your initials are on the comment!

When you are finished, check out Miss Freel's Mathematicious Links and play some fun math games!

Grade Three: Winter has arrived!

Brrrrrr....

Good morning Grade Three students! I hope you are having a fantastic (though very wintry) day.

Today we read the poem "I Wish I Knew." The author of this poem uses personification to share her feelings about winter.

How do you feel about winter? How could you show those feelings using personification?

Here is your assignment for today:

Use personification to describe your feelings about winter in at least three different sentences or in a 3-line poem.

Don't forget! You need to sign your work with your initials or first name.

Thanks! I am excited to read your published work!
